How Your Donations Serve Victims of Violent Crime

Have you ever wondered how the Arkansas Valley Resource Center (AVRC) is funded?

It may surprise you to know, but AVRC doesn’t receive any guaranteed federal, state, or local funds.

While other service agencies are given allocated funds from the government each year for maintaining operations, as a non-profit agency, AVRC must regularly apply for grants to be able to continue to provide services to victims of violent crimes, including domestic violence.

Another important source of funding for AVRC comes from community donations.

But how are these donations utilized to assist victims and survivors of violent crime?

Monetary and material donations can be utilized in many ways.

Donors can designate how they want their monetary donation to be put to use, including to help build AVRC’s on-site shelter facility project, the Blair House.

Non-monetary donations, such as food, personal care items, and clothing, serve a two-fold benefit.

They can be documented as in-kind donations, which helps AVRC seek further grant funds, as well as be provided directly to victims to support them and their families.

How do I donate?

Monetary donations can be sent in by mail, in person at the AVRC office, or through AVRC’s direct Paypal donation account, via the following link:

Non-monetary donations can be brought in directly to the AVRC office, where AVRC Staff can provide donors with a proof of donation slip for the donor’s use for tax credit.
