October 1st kicks off Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2020 (#DVAM2020). To honor survivors of Domestic Violence, the Arkansas Valley Resource Center (AVRC) will continue to work to further the goal of support and awareness by sharing topics regarding domestic violence related issues and highlight various way our community can celebrate and uplift survivors.

Part of the overall goal of #DVAM is not only to spread awareness, but also seek involvement from our community to reach the goal to ending domestic violence altogether. It is important to consider what is the #1Thing you might be able to contribute to reaching this goal. Is your #1Thing donating to or volunteering for your local domestic violence service provider? Or maybe your #1Thing is sharing articles and other media about domestic violence on your social platforms, using the #DVAM2020 hashtag. Another way AVRC Staff will be celebrating DVAM is by participating in #PurpleThursday on October 22nd, and we encourage everyone to show their best purple gear!

Please join AVRC in the spirit of solidarity, as we celebrate survivors of domestic violence every day throughout October, and every day beyond. Keep an eye out for more posts and activities to come!
If you, a friend, or loved one are a victim of domestic violence, and would like to seek support or learn more about AVRC services, AVRC Staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
